App Smashing Tutorial – Chrome Music Lab With Soundtrap

App Smashing Tutorial – Chrome Lab with Soundtrap

App smashing can help your students and your school adopt the very best learning strategies. The term was coined by a former history teacher and current education technology expert, Greg Kulwiec, in 2013.

What is App Smashing?

App smashing refers to smashing together multiple apps in combination with each other to complete a task. You can create something in one app and then go to another and create a completely different element of your project. Finally, you’ll merge the content together to create a final product.

Why App Smash?

App smashing involves several different applications working together. It involves creative thinking from your students, maximizes the value created by your applications, and often results in more engaging final products. As long as students clearly understand what they want to achieve and have an outline of the project, they can build a more efficient end result through the process.

App Smash Chrome Music Lab with Soundtrap

In this video, you’ll learn how to app smash using Chrome Music Lab with Soundtrap.

First, open up Chrome Music Lab and its Song Maker.

Save your project as a MIDI file.

Then, open up the Soundtrap Studio.

Drag & Drop or import the file into the Soundtrap Studio.

Finally, you’ll be able to add more Loops, beats, or instruments, like the synth, to create a great mix.

Through the process, you can take Soundtrap and Google Chrome Music Lab and blend them together to create a final mix your audience will enjoy. Teach your students how to app smash and have them create their ideal mix.
