App Smashing Tutorial – Soundtrap and Google ToolsOctober 27, 2022
A former history teacher and current education technology expert by the name of Greg Kulowiec coined the term “app smashing” in 2013, and it’s all the rage in the EdTech world. There are plenty of different ways that you can bring this activity into your classroom, and one of them uses Google Tools. Many classrooms use these digital tools already, so try app-smashing Soundtrap and Google Tools for a brand-new educational experience.
What Is App Smashing?
App smashing is a fun, engaging way for your students to experience the benefits of multiple EdTech apps in the same lesson. If your lesson involves app smashing, students will create the first part of their project in one application, and then they’ll use another application to create the second part of their assignment. Then, students can merge both pieces of content for a perfect final product.
Why App Smash?
App smashing encourages students to solve problems from different perspectives and think about the subject in new ways. Since students are blending results from specialized applications to achieve their final project, they will think more deeply about the subject at hand. Furthermore, app smashing is engaging and exciting, especially for students that have grown up in a digitized world. And when students are app-smashing Soundtrap and Google Tools, they can add dimension to their projects with familiar digital tools.
